The AddOn toric-progressive (trifocal) means yet another addition to the 1stQ IOL Portfolio in the range of sulcus-based AddOn IOLs.

„We have been experiencing that there is an increasing number of physicians and patients alike who have come to recognise and appreciate the special benefits resulting from the combination of a basis lens in the capsular bag plus an additional AddOn in the ciliary sulcus“, says Rüdiger Dworschak, founder and managing partner of 1stQ. „Consequently, the toric-progressive AddOn not only enhances the choice of optical products within the AddOn range, but also increases the options for refractive corrections offered by this dual-lens system many times over.“
The toric-progressive AddOn features a trifocal optic with a +3 D near addition for intermediate and near vision. The spherical refraction ranges from -3 D through + 3 D in 0.5 D increments, while the cylindrical refraction is ranging from 1 D through 4.5 D, again in 0.5 D increments.
„With respect to refractive corrections, there are virtually no limits to the therapeutic freedom for the physician any more. It is the non-traumatic reversibility, in particular, that proves the AddOn to be very attractive for implantation in multifocal solutions, above all. Independence from spectacles can be achieved without any risk and without any undesired concomitant effects or light phenomena, such as halos. Individual preferences, priorities and necessities with respect to visual conditions after the lens exchange, may now be taken into account with more flexible and more individual considerations, by including the toric-progressive optic“, adds Dworschak, who developed the AddOn with its patented sulcus-fit design. The toric-progressive AddOn (A4HW0M) is available as from now. In addition to the standard dioptre and cylinder ranges it may also be ordered with other refraction values upon request. It complements the AddOn portfolio that has so far consisted of the spherical AddOn, the torical AddOn, the progressive (trifocal) AddOn, plus the AddOn SML (Scharioth Macula Lens).
